My 3-year-old figured out the magnetic matching on her own within minutes, and now she narrates each sea creature finding its spot on the coral. The domed base keeps everything steady even when she's being rough with it.
The coral branches are plush enough that my daughter squeezes them while she plays, and the magnets on the sea creatures snap onto the colored spots with a satisfying little click. It's become her quiet-time toy, and I like that the domed base keeps everything from rolling off the table.
My toddler grabbed the little sea creatures immediately and started plopping them onto the matching coral spots — the magnets snap together just firmly enough that they stay put but she can still pull them off. The whole reef is soft and squishy, so it's fine when she inevitably drops it on her own
