My newborn spends ages on the padded side just staring at the little balls, and the double-sided design means it grows with him. The padding is thick enough that I don't worry about tummy time on our hardwood floors.
The organic polka-dot side is what convinced me to buy this, and it's held up great through daily tummy time. My newborn actually stays on it longer than the blanket we used before.
The double-sided design is genuinely useful—we start tummy time on the polka-dot side, then flip it for a change of scenery when she gets fussy. The padding feels plush enough for hardwood floors, though I wish it came with a carrying strap for trips to grandma's.
