Compare the Velveteen Dino Growly T-Rex and Spike Triceratops by size, weight, and softness to find the best dinosaur plush toy for your toddler.
Quick answer
Choose the Velveteen Dino Growly T-Rex if you want a compact, huggable 14-inch plush; pick the Velveteen Dino Spike Triceratops for a longer 19-inch cuddle buddy that offers more surface area for snuggling.
Size matters for cuddling
The most obvious difference between these two Velveteen Dinos is their size. Growly the T-Rex measures 14 inches from head to tail, making it a lap-friendly companion that fits easily in a stroller or car seat. Spike the Triceratops stretches to 19 inches, offering a longer body that toddlers can wrap their arms around for full-body hugs.
Weighted comfort in both
Both plush dinosaurs are weighted, which adds a calming, grounding feel that many toddlers find soothing. The weight distribution differs slightly due to their shapes: the T-Rex's tail and head create a balanced center, while the Triceratops's horns and frill give it a more top-heavy weight that still feels secure when held.
